Welcome to the Christian Science church in Lexington, Massachusetts.
The Reading Room and church are located in a storefront in the Mews building at 10 Muzzey Street, in Lexington center. Our entrance is at the rear of the building, facing the municipal parking lot.
Using public transportation, Lexington can be reached from Boston via MBTA bus routes 62 and 76 from the Alewife T station, at the western end of the red line. Get off the bus at Depot Square in Lexington center. (Within Lexington, take the L’Express bus to Depot Square.) From Depot Square, cross Massachusetts Avenue, walk to the right down Massachusetts Avenue to Muzzey Street, which is to the right of Wales Copy Center. The Mews building will be the third building on your left. Enter the building and walk down the hall all the way through the building to the town parking lot. Turn to the left. We’re located at the end of the building, just before a narrow alleyway.
In the year 1903 the first Christian Science service was held in Lexington. The group was officially recognized as a church in 1910 and has been holding services ever since.
This is a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Our goal is to maintain in Lexington a place for the public worship of God in accordance with the teachings of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. We also aspire to learn how to fulfill the command of Christ Jesus to “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils.”
Our church is democratic, with church officers chosen by the membership. We strive to be governed by God, our creator, and to maintain the equal rights of all members.
