Public series on Christian Science healing

On April 25-27, community members are invited to explore the Christian Science approach to healing at three evening events sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist in Lexington.

What exactly is Christian Science? How do those two words fit into one name that defines an approach to faith? How do Christian Scientists find healing through spirituality, and how do they relate to the medical world?

International speakers and members of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, Nate Frederick Larissa Snorek-Yates will address these questions and discuss the history and theology of Christian Science and its founder as well as its practical approach to healing, sharing examples from their own personal and professional experience in an accessible and informal context. Church members will be available to continue the discussion and provide resources for continued exploration.

Frederick and Snorek-Yates will be giving one-hour talks on Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 27 respectively, both at 7:00PM at 13 Depot Square in Lexington Center. Frederick’s talk, “Learn to pray and heal- a spiritual adventure” includes stories of profound healing experiences on his worldwide travels, and Snorek-Yates will speak on “The healing power of stillness”, providing an antidote to the stressful demands of hectic schedules and fear-inducing situations in our current mental climate.

On Wednesday evening, April 26, the church will host an informal discussion with refreshments at 7:00, followed by their midweek meeting at 8:00 at which visitors are always welcome, taking place in the Reading Room/church space in the Mews Building at 10 Muzzey Street.
