FREE LECTURE: Why Everyone is Needed by James Shepherd

This talk will focus on the fact that God’s love is for everyone and brings healing. Practitioner and speaker James Shepherd explains, “Our unbreakable connection to God, infinite Love, gives us permanent worth and purpose.  It lifts us from dark times to healing and progress.”

Shepherd will speak about why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, as described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy.

He will also touch on the life of Mary Baker Eddy, a mid-nineteenth century woman from New England, and how she came to discover what she considered original Christian healing, as Jesus practiced it. For over 150 years, many people have followed Christ Jesus in this practice of Christianity and continue to do so today

Shepherd has been a practitioner of Christian Science healing for 30 years, helping people to overcome difficulties through prayer. He grew up in a family that relied on Christian Science, lived for a time on a ranch, and loves the outdoors. He has participated in and coached youth sports programs and volunteered in his community.  Representing his church, he has shared the message of Love’s transforming power in prisons and youth detention centers. His home base in Eugene, Oregon.
